KIP CLUB with Miss. Taniesha
This month: "Pinwheels & Paper Bags"
KIP CLUB attendees will participate in the nationwide campaign "Pinwheels for Prevention" for National Child Abuse Prevention Month. We will visit the library's "Garden of Hope", chat about where other pinwheel gardens can be found in the community and each child will decorate their own pinwheel to take home.
**If possible please have children wear a BLUE shirt! Blue is the color for Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention. We would like to take a group photo with our pinwheels during KIP CLUB.**
April also brings us back to Legos! This month Miss. Taniesha is planning a "Paper Bag Challenge". Every participant will be given a paper bag with assorted Legos, they must create something using ONLY the Legos found in THEIR paper bag.
Background about KIP CLUB:
KIP stands for Knowledge Is Power. It is also the name of my 5 ½ month old Blue Heeler puppy. Kip Adrienne is super smart and she loves to play and explore. So when I put together my furry best friend and the idea that knowledge is power, I got a pretty exciting idea for the after school library club! Think about it… how does one gain knowledge? Well, there are lots of ways actually, but in short they explore and experience new things. KIP CLUB will be all about learning and discovering new things while playing and having fun! There will be rotating activities such as building with Legos, going on nature adventures, creating art projects, reading stories, doing our own creative writing and more!
How can my child attend?
Children in grades K-5 who have a signed permission slip (for their appropriate grade level on the correct program date and time) will be able to ride the bus to the corner of the library's street. They will be greeted by a library staff member and walked down the road and into the library. Parents/caregivers are responsible for pick up after the program ends. In the event that KIP CLUB is offered during school breaks or weekends, parents/caregivers are responsible for drop off and pick up. Pre-registration will be required.
