Backpack Program

The Thousand Islands Central School offers backpacks filled with food for children of need who are in grades K-12. The backpacks are given to children the day before weekends and school breaks. This program is designed to help provide food and snacks for children and their families when school is not in session. The library is a designated collection spot and we encourage patrons to help support the children and families in our community through this much needed program.  The program is also in need of backpacks. You can donate a new or gently used backpack or tote bag to this program by bringing it to the library.

** SUMMER NEWS** The library is a backpack pick up site for the summer. Children and families are able to receive the backpacks at the library. Bags are dropped off from the school on Fridays and are distributed Fridays and Saturdays. If there are remaining backpacks left they will be distributed through the week during normal library hours.
