Supporting My Library

Libraries all around the country are feeling the pinch of cutbacks by the state governments and the Cape Vincent Library is no different. The bulk of the library's budget funds are gathered on the school tax bill that is mailed to homeowners the first of September. Few patrons note the very reasonable sum that is collected as library tax, most pay less than $20 per year to support the library. It is estimated that the typical patron gets many times that in the value of services at the library.

With the average cost of $25.00 each for the newest bestsellers, the rising cost of fuel for heat, electric for lights, and other operating expenses, every dollar gets stretched to the max. If you are a library supporter, we invite you to make a donation of any amount to the Cape Vincent Library. Either send it to the library or stop in to ask for a particular need the library may have. Thank you for supporting our library.
