Irish Pub Night

Dia Dhuit! (Hello) from the Cape Vincent Library!

The crew here at the library was inspired by a recent trip to Rochester to attend a conference whose key speaker was Michael Morpurgo, author of the fabulous “War Horse.” At the end of his amazing presentation he stood in the Nazareth College chapel and sang an Irish ballad from the movie and stage show. It was glorious; no accompaniment, no fanfare, just pure pub tenor. The audience erupted into a thunderous round of applause and Amy and I looked at each other and declared, “Irish pub night at the library”!

With the support of the board of trustees, the Friends of the library and a talented community, the library will hold its first ever Pub Night on Thursday March 13, at 6PM. It will be advertised as an adult evening with Irish music, food, ballads and maybe even some dance will be held.
