Spring into Reading!

17 children attended the Spring Story Time. They learned how to turn their hand print into a bunny and how to build a fence out of popsicle sticks. We read How Do You Know It's Spring? by Allan Fowler, Night Rabbits by Monica Wellington and we debuted a brand new book Nora's Chicks by Patricia MacLachlan. The room was full of enthusiastic bunnies and chicks as we acted out poems and rhymes. The children got to taste a rainbow as they were offered a fruit tray of red strawberries, oranges, pineapple, green grapes, and blackberries arranged in an arch of a rainbow. Then we had our drawing and the lucky winner of Sharon Wiley's Easter House Treat was Vincent Nebbia.

Teddy Bears came to the Library!

The Library Bears, Corduroy and Paddington, welcomed several bears to the library. Jenny McCarthy brought a lovely purple bear with beautiful earrings. Michael McCarthy brought Charles. Taylor and Lauren Rupp attended with Rose and Jackson. Michael Gregga and Branden Jackson arrived with Teddy and a Polar Bear. Brendan and Ava Handley introduced Mr. Teddy Weddy and Mr. Stuffy Guffy. Raphaela Bell came with her special friend Fraulein. 108 books were recorded in the February Reading Records. Our February readers earned the opportunity to adopt a bear. Claudia Wedel adopted Spangle. Taylor and Lauren chose Millennium and Valentino. Michael and Branden picked a White Bear and Bongo. Brendan and Ava went home with Glory and USA Bear. Raphaela added a life size bear holding an I Love You heart to her family. Trayia Scales could not attend our party but she will come to the library to adopt her bear that she earned. A room full of bears went home with loving families tonight. What a great way to end the month of February!
